Real solid deal for the Flames.

Nice to see guys leaving money on the table so that the team can spend money on other upgrades.

It means a solid foundation through the next few years and with the additional signings and trades, not to mention our prospects, the future is positive for this team. Signing Hamilton means the minutes and the offense from the back end will be spread a little more evenly...

The Pacific will be perhaps the toughest in the league in a very short period of time...

Central is the toughest right now, teams might have 96 pts and still miss the playoffs

I know what he did was illegal, but all of this over a single bottle of pills? Come on

I hope the Kings are punished for this. Makes the NHL look bad if they allow a team to terminate a contract over some pain pills (which he most likely has become addicted to over the years of playing professional hockey) yet the team keeps a guy convicted of beating the poop out of his wife on payroll?

(frank)ing bullpoop if you ask me.

Wow, absolutely brutal. But, it kinda seems like this could be the root of the guys problems.....and if it is, hopefully he gets help.

Sucks that the Kings weasel out of his contract, but in the end its a business decision. Just hope he gets some help.

You know what really pisses me off?

That it took them two (frank)ing months to charge the guy.

Like (frank), what a waste of taxpayer money. What did they have to investigate that took so long?

Ya no poopt! If he was charged and processed as quickly as Stoll was he could have probably been looking at signing a 1 year deal somewhere. This was not handled well at all. Possession of a controlled substance for your use should not (frank) your whole life/career up to this extent.

The question now becomes what happens to the Kings? Do they get hit with trying to circumvent the cap? Not that I see the NHL being all that harsh to them, but you'd think this is something they should be coming down on.

The other question I have is what exactly can the PA get out of that grievance for Richards? From a union stand point do they want Richards to earn the most money possible? If so you'd assume they fight for him not to be bought out until next summer. On the flip side do you push for them to just allow the buyout so he can get out of a bad situation?
